Lemon Pepper Hummus

Hummus is one of those things that sounds like it should be complicated but is actually so simple and once you make it yourself, you'll never go back to the store-bought stuff. The secret? Peeling your chickpeas. Yes, it's an extra step, but it's the difference between good hummus and ridiculously silky, smooth hummus. Pair it with homemade zaatar pita chips that come together in under 15 minutes and you've got the ultimate appetizer situation. Whether it's game day, a dinner party, or honestly just a Tuesday, this combo never misses

Ingredients:

  • 1 15-ounce can garbanzo beans drained and PEELED
  • ½ cup tahini
  • 2 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice, more as needed
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt or more to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Lemon Pepper for dusting

Instructions

  • In a food processor, add the garbanzo beans, tahini, lemon juice, garlic and salt and blend until smooth. With the machine running, drizzle in 1 tablespoon of cold water at a time, until the hummus is silky smooth with no clumps.
  • Taste and adjust seasonings, adding more salt, garlic or lemon if desired.
  • To serve, drizzle it with a little olive oil, and sprinkle it with Dalkin&Co Lemon Pepper Seasoning. Serve it with pita wedges
